SAS Takes Sustainable Taxiing to the Next Level!
SAS is proud to announce the signing last week of the Memorandum of Understanding alongside Marjan Rintel from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines,
Jasper Daams from Royal Schiphol Group, and Wouter Van Wersch from Airbus to further develop the TaxiBot operations at Schiphol Airport.
This is a unique solution that allows aircraft to taxi with their main engines off while the pilot remains in full control.
Together, we are accelerating the transition toward zero-emission ground operations at Schiphol Airport. After more than 70 live missions and 16 kilotons of kerosene saved, the next chapter begins: making the TaxiBot smaller and faster.
This collaboration is a strong example of how Dutch innovation and international partnership can drive real impact — improving airside working conditions, reducing emissions, and creating a more efficient future for aviation.
Truly a privilege to be part of it! 💪🌍✈️
